A man will be appearing in Court on Wednesday (October 10), after being arrested following an Armed Offenders Squad call out to Hawarden in North Canterbury on Tuesday afternoon.
Hurunui sub-area supervisor, Sergeant Rob Irvine, says a 29-year-old man, was located and arrested without incident, at an address in the town.
He said police had been looking for the man since the weekend.
“He had been involved in several family harm episodes and was believed to have had a weapon,” says Sergeant Irvine.
“I would like to thank the public for for their assistance in locating the man and would like to reassure all that everyone is safe, including the victim.
