Kaiwara near Culverden will host next weekend’s Tracktion Three Hour Cross Country, run by the Christchurch Off-Road Motorcycle Club.
The popular event attracts motor bike riders from far and wide and classes include a minis trail ride, senior, junior and ladies events.
Lap scoring will be by Electronic Transponder System, supplied by Timing Tech in Christchurch. If there is sufficient coverage, lap times will be live.
Those riding in the mini section have an early start with sign on and briefing between 7am and 7.30am, with Juniors and ladies from 8.15am to 8.45am and Seniors from 9.15am to 11am.
The mini trail riders will have an adult with them shadowing the ride (a parent or guardian), who will be wearing hi viz vests.
The trail ride is non competitive with a 5km course and flag finish of approximately 45 minutes.
All minis are expected to be able to pick up their own bikes unaided.
The Junior (10-16 years) and Ladies course is 10km with a flag finish at one and a half hours and Seniors will have a 20km course with a finish flag at three hours.
Prizes will be awarded at the track, with minis receiving a participation certificate. There will also be spot prizes for all classes at the end of their races.
