The Rangiora Library is offering book lovers the chance to purchase a broad range of books for just $1 each in the lead-up to Christmas.
“We usually have books for sale at the Rangiora Library, but they are normally $2 each,” the library’s weekend supervisor, Kay Goldsworthy, said last Sunday.
All of the books on offer are in good condition but haven’t been out on loan for two years or more and are now surplus to requirements.
They cover a wide range, with everything from The Complete Book of Canaries, by G.T. Dodwell, to Create Your Own Dream Home, by Lizzie O’Prey, The Secret Olympian, by Anon, The Editor’s Wife, by Clare Chambers, plus many sagas, thrillers, science fiction and travel books.
Kay said it would be good to sell the books, for people to read and then possibly pass on to someone else to enjoy, which was preferable to dumping them.
