Rangiora’s Winter Palace cocktail evening next month is proving a hot-ticket event.
More than 110 tickets have already been sold for the event billed as a “sophisticated soiree of cocktails” on Friday July 28.
The event is part of this year’s four-day Rangiora Winter Festival which begins on Thursday, July 27. Many of the tickets have been bought by Rangiora businesses wanting to have a mid-winter celebration with their staff, says Karl Horwarth, one of the Rangiora Festival Charitable Trust members.
Rangiora’s Robe Boutique is one of the businesses supporting the event.
“We are having a girls night out,” manager Julia Mckerrow says.
“It is a good opportunity for the Robe girls to get dressed up, spend time with our clients and have a fun night out together. It is also a great opportunity to network and meet new people.”
Staff were also looking forward to helping clients planning to attend the cocktail evening to choose something special to wear on the night, she says.
“We get a real buzz out of dressing women and helping to make them feel really special.”
Robe has a big selection of cocktail dresses from New Zealand and Australian designers, including Shilla, Isla, Ricochet, and Fate and Becker to choose from.
“The dresses are mainly black but we also have some other gorgeous colours too,” Julia said.
The cocktail evening will be held from 7pm to 11pm, in a winter-themed marquee in the Blake St carpark, opposite Rangiora’s Fools of Desire Cafe in Conway Lane.
There will be a red-carpet entry to the event with paparazzi on hand to photograph guests arriving. Tickets are limited to between 200 and 230.
Ticket holders will receive a complimentary drink on arrival at the licenced event and complimentary canapes throughout the night.
Tickets can be bought from Fools Of Desire Cafe and Reality Bites Cafe in the Gables Arcade, in Rangiora, or online at www.eventbrite.co.nz.
All ticket holders go in the draw to win a Humvee limousine transfer to and from the function. The marquee will be heated and specially decorated for the event with live music also and a dance floor.
The dress code for the event is “cocktail attire” and there will be a “best-dressed couple” prize awarded on the night with the chance to win a $500 travel voucher from helloworld Rangiora.
Saturday, July 29, will again be the festival’s main day with ice sculptures, fun activities, live music, a food market and stalls in the Blake St carpark area, plus a covered farmers’ market in a closed-off section of High Street.
