A giant Christmas tree installed on the Waimakariri District Council service centre’s front lawn has added a festive air to central Rangiora.
The Waimakariri District Council has also installed a similar tree in Kaiapoi, outside the Ruataniwha Kaiapoi Civic Centre.
The artificial trees cost about $20,000 each and were bought from the Christmas product company Celebrations Christmas, which imports them from Taiwan.
Rangiora Ashley Community Board chairman Jim Gerard says the board members are delighted to see some Christmas cheer in Rangiora’s main street.
The trees come complete with baubles and Christmas lights attached, including a lit star at the top.
The seven-metre reusable trees come in sections that bolt together. They will be stored in a council storage shed once Christmas is over. The council has received support from MainPower in installing fairy lights in trees in Rangiora’s town centre, as well as festoon lights, and a power connection for the Rangiora tree.Adidas shoesNike Shoes
