The opening night for North Canterbury Musicals (NCMS) latest production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat has been an outstanding success with the large crowd giving the cast a standing ovation at the end of the show.
The show opened in the Rangiora Town Hall on Thursday evening. It is the third time NCMS has produced the family-friendly musical and last night  there were three stars from the 2004 production at the theatre to see the new show.
NCMS president, Grant Hartley Brown, above centre, played the butler in that production, his wife Dale Hartley-Brown, left, played the narrator and Ashgrove School principal Leon Van’t Veen-Gibbon – above right – played Joseph.
It was a special night for Grant and Dale as their daughter Cassidy is in the children’s ensemble for the show.
