Forest fun run

North Loburn School is holding its popular Ashley Forest fun run this Sunday on Father’s Day.
The school’s annual fundraiser will be held in the forest, off Forestry Road in Ashley. Racing starts at 10am with registrations open from 8.30am.
Last year the fun run attracted more than 400 entries, raising more than $6000 for the school.
This year the event includes a 2km and 5km run or walk course which are both buggy friendly and ideal for parents with young families, an organiser Anne Murphy said.
There is also a more challenging 10km course for runners or walkers, and the half-marathon course which is ‘‘just for runners and will certainly raise heart rates with one or two hills’’, Anne said.
The picturesque event has become a great way for dads and their children to do something special together on Father’s Day, or all the family to enjoy.
‘‘The money raised from this year’s event will be put towards purchasing digital technologies for the six classrooms,’’ Anne said.
Online entries closed yesterday on August 31, but late entries can be made on race day.bridge mediaNike
