The Cheviot Hills Challenge Mountain Bike Race returns to the Cheviot Hills Reserve on a new date next year, with several changes to cater for riders of all levels of experience and fitness.
Organisers from the Cheviot Lions are excited about the return of this popular event after the 2017 Challenge was cancelled due to a wet October. As a result the event has been moved to summer – Sunday, January 27.
Organisers have added a 12km two-lap option to the mix, giving recreational riders a less daunting option than the three or four-lap events. A single 6km lap is available for riders aged 10-15.
All proceeds go to the local community through Lions projects.
